A visit from  Michigan State University, USA.

We had the great pleasure today to host a delegation from the Department of Animal Science of Michigan State University, USA.
The learning objectives for the University from their visit to Copperbeach Connemara Ponies was:
Discussing Connemara Ponies in relation to 1) Contribution to the Irish Horse Industry, 2) Desirable characteristics/traits, 3) Uses, and 4) Health concerns/specific management practices. 5) What are the opportunities/threats to ensure the breed’s success?
It was a most enjoyable visit to accommodate, we hope that the participants took away lots of learnings on the Connemara Ponies to aid them in their research and further studies.
Many thanks to Cllr Michael Burke for providing a formal welcome to the delegation to Ballinrobe and the West of Ireland, explaining the importance of the horse industry to our region, and giving some insight into the rich equestrian history that surrounds us.
We wish the delegation an enjoyable visit to Ireland and safe travels on their journey.
